Scientific calculator
All calculators work in different ways so it is advisable for pupils to purchase calculators early in their secondary career and use these every lesson in order for them to understand how their own model works.
Tips for parents:

Help them to practise their multiplication tables.

Look at the labels on food products for weights etc.

Discuss scales and measures when on journeys, reading maps etc.

Help your son/ daughter with homework but do not do it for them

Ensure your son/ daughter has the correct Maths equipment

If your son/ daughter is unable to do their homework for any good reason, please write a note in their planner.

Discuss real-life uses of maths

To help with revision you can encourage your son/ daughter to read through their class books and use the mymaths website.

Homework is set weekly within the department in line with the school homework timetable.
