Are you interested in becoming a teacher? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at St John Henry Newman School and our family of primary schools. This means that you could train to be a secondary or primary teacher here with us, right on your doorstep in an environment you know, with people who know you.

We are part of the Catholic Teaching Alliance with other Catholic High Schools across Lancashire and Cumbria. This means that you can train to become a teacher with us as part of this partnership. The training lasts for one academic year and leads to the qualification of a PGCE with QTS and 120 credits towards an MA through Cumbria University.

If you have completed a degree course and you have thought about a career in teaching this is an ideal opportunity to draw on the expert advice of outstanding teachers. Working in partnership with local Catholic secondary schools, allows us to customise the training to meet the needs of both the school and the trainees, who gain practical experience from day one. It is a great way to learn and qualify to become a teacher and become one of the next generation of outstanding Catholic teachers and leaders.
