St John Henry Newman Catholic School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and able teaching assistant for our popular school.
You will be part of a team who work collaboratively in class and provide support to a number of pupils with special educational needs. You will work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
The successful candidate will be:

· an outstanding practitioner with high expectations of pupils achievement and behaviour who is committed to providing high quality teacher and classroom support
· an excellent communicator who is able to work inclusively with pupils and staff
Current working hours are:
Monday to Friday 9.10am – 3.05pm. There is also the flexibility to extend these hours to start earlier and/or finish later to work with the pupils.
Please note this post is on an initial fixed term basis, until July 2024 with the potential to be extended depending on support required for the next academic year.

As a Cover Supervisor, your role will involve delivering pre planned lessons in the absence of the teacher. The main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that pupils remain on task with the work they have been set. This position is part time and term time only. Applicants need to be flexible with working hours. Full training will be provided.
