What OFSTED says…
OFSTED recently published a report documenting the shockingly high instances of sexual harassment in schools. You can read the full report here.
Our Response and Commitment to Eliminating Sexual Harassment
You can find our strategy and response to this report underneath.
Within our response, we mentioned a video that we would use to inform our students about sexual harassment prior to them completing our anonymous survey which you can watch below.
Our Safeguarding Policy, Child on Child Abuse Policy, and Rewards and Behaviour Policy can be found on our documents & policies page where specific reference is made to Sexual Harassment and how we deal with it.
Our HRSE curriculum has now been running for two years; you can see the curriculum content for HRSE here and whilst we are confident that we deal age-appropriately with these serious issues and more, we have committed to a mini-review and plan a short interruption of the curriculum to spearhead an awareness campaign within all year groups of our student body.
The NSPCC website is a good place to find out more about sexual abuse and harassment. You can find a link to the site here.
If you would like to speak about this issue in more detail, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
