Cross Country Celebrations

xcountry-nov

Well done to all the pupils in school who have overcome the wind and rain, the mud, and the hilly terrain to complete the school cross country this week. They were encouraged to think about how to pace themselves successfully and find that intensity where they could endure the ½ mile course over the distance set. The older year groups were asked to work aerobically and ensure they didn't cross that anaerobic threshold which would make their run difficult.

Whether it was for health and fitness benefits or that desire to come out on top pupils showed heart and determination to complete the course.

The top 3 pupils in each year group were:

Year 11 -

1st Bayron C, 2nd Omran H, 3rd Charlie S

Year 10 -

1st Luke G, 2nd Mark S, 3rd Alfie W

1st Heidi M, 2nd Phoebe L, 3rd Amie E

Year 9 -

1st Jay W, 2nd Will L, 3rd Fletcher U

1st Jorja R, 2nd Chloe B, 3rd Charley R

Year 8 -

1st Jamie G, 2nd Oliver J, 3rd Justin S

1st Lauren R, 2nd Maisie L, 3rd Martyna K

Year 7 -

1st Daniel W, 2nd Owen D, 3rd Jay E

1st Indiana E, 2nd Lucy A, 3rd Mary P

Those pupils that excelled in lesson (plus anyone else who would like to run it) are invited to stay behind after school on Friday 10 November 2023 to race the best pupils in each year group. Selections to represent the school in the district events will follow this.
