We enjoyed another fantastic adventure at Susan's Farm CIO this week. The afternoon started with some farm chores, including collecting eggs from the chickens. The hens have certainly been busy, and we gathered a wonderful selection of blue, white, and traditional brown eggs from the newer members of the flock. These ladies are definitely working overtime!
We also enjoyed our usual dose of "chicken therapy." One of our pupils even managed to gently soothe a chicken to sleep, which was such a lovely and calming experience for everyone involved.Next, we headed to the farm pond for some pond dipping, and what an amazing time we all had!
Both pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed exploring the water and discovering all sorts of fascinating creatures. The excitement was contagious, especially when we found a creature that none of us could identify. It looks like we'll need to do some investigating and hopefully share the answer with you next week!
As always, there was fantastic teamwork, lots of laughter, beautiful weather, and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the afternoon. A huge thank you to our wonderful Farm Lead, Caren, for all her hard work in providing us with a fun, engaging, and memorable experience.
We are already looking forward to our next visit!Mrs Ferreira - Senior Teaching Assistant
