Newman Celebration Day

John Henry Newman's journey to sainthood began when Pope Benedict XVI came to England to celebrate his beatification in 2010. The Pope made 9th October his feast day. On the 13th October 2019 in Rome, Pope Francis will declare him a saint. Our school patron will no longer be known as Blessed John Henry Newman, but Saint John Henry Newman. He is the first person in the last 300 years from England who has been declared a saint.

We are holding celebratory services in school today for all year groups and giving a commemorative gift to the staff and students.
